Vic: Alleged Mokbel associate granted bail

An alleged associate of convicted drug smuggler TONY MOKBEL has been granted bail ..

because his trial will take at least two years to get underway.

41 year old ZLATE CVETANOVSKI has made no plea today in the Melbourne Magistrates Court
.. on charges he trafficked and manufactured a large commercial quantity of amphetamines.

He's also charged with possessing 72-thousand dollars cash .. which police allege is
the proceeds of crime.

Magistrate PETER COUZENS said CVETANOVSKI'S trial wouldn't commence until the first
half of 2010 .. and said it'd be an unreasonable length of time to spend behind bars waiting
for the case to begin.

A 350-thousand dollar surety's been set .. CVETANOVSKI's banned from leaving Victoria
.. and must report daily to police.

He'll appear again on July 9.
