Fed: Aboriginal ceramicist awarded $40,000 in Visual arts prize

A celebrated Aboriginal ceramicist and the director of Melbourne University's Asialink
arts program have been honoured at an Australian Council of the Arts ceremony in Sydney.

Dr THANCOUPIE GLORIA FLETCHER has been awarded the 40-thousand-dollar Visual Arts Emeritus
Award for her career as an indigenous artist .. teacher and community leader.

Asialink's arts program director .. ALISON CARROLL .. has been awarded the 10-thousand-dollar
Visual Arts Emeritus Medal for creating Melbourne University's arts program .. which aims
to develop and cultivate creative opportunities between Australia and Asia.
